Danny - Office Manager
Danny is your first point of contact in the office, he will deal with all your enquiries and orders. If he's not in the office you'll find him running around the yard but rest assured he will help you get the most out of your timber for the best quote.
Hamish - Machinist
Hamish works on the Sawmill and machines your orders whether it's needing planed to thickness, profiled, edged or cross cut.
Ros - Timber-shop and online Sales
Ros can be found in the Timber shop serving and assisting customers. Ros also looks after our online sales and social media platforms - this is who chats to you online.
Michael - Machinist
Michael works on our mill and machines customer orders. He is also responsible for bringing all our lovely stock to the Timber-shop, selecting, planing and cutting so it's available for you to buy!
Eddie - Sawyer
Eddie mills our logs for stock and orders, and is usually situated at our LT40 wide Woodmizer.
John - Yards Man and Splitter
John is our handy man helping out wherever he is needed all over the yard. He is also splits our Firewood.
Gary - Yard's man and delivery driver
Gary can be found in our workshop dealing with equipment maintenance, helping with orders on the yard and he is our key delivery driver.
Ross - Sawyer
Ross is situated at our Woodmizer production line and cuts our timber for stock and customer orders.
Jim Birley - Founder and Director
Jim established Scottish Wood over 20 years ago, you can read more about how that came to be here. Over the years Jim has dedicated his time, putting his experience and knowledge gained into Scottish wood. Jim is often out on the yard helping with orders, dealing with enquiries or out on his quest to source logs sustainably from around Scotland, while building his team to deliver you the best quality timber and service.
